Hey friends,
Happy happy Spring! Can you believe it is finally here?! Here in Alabama, we have all four seasons in one day, so I am constantly putting on and shedding clothing. How is it where y'all are?
March is coming to a close, but not without a special birthday to celebrate! Miss Hadley is turning one this year! I am so blessed to have been given the best gift and to have her here a year later to celebrate.
We did an actual birthday dinner last night, at Jim n Nick's in Auburn. The food was wonderful and the company was perfect! If you ever want candid shots from our little lives, follow us on Instagram!
I wanted to share a FB live video tutorial I did earlier this week on some little creations I am doing for her party. This tutorial walks you through how to put a picture inside of a text.
*FYI, the fonts and graphics in this video are purchased for personal and business use.
Find the video here.
If you are like me and have a sleeping child on your chest, and would not dare play a video with sound; then here are some quiet written steps for you!
One: Place a text box
Two: Type your text
Three (optional): Change your font
Four: Select Text
Five: Go to Toolbar, Select Format
Six: Select Text Fill
Seven: From the drop down list, select picture > from file
Eight: Choose the picture you want to fill your text
Nine: Sit back and enjoy your new trick!
Y'all, wasn't that just mind-blowing? I am definitely using this trick on #allthethings in the future and can't wait to see you do the same!
If you want another example, check out my new logo! I added the glitter for some extra fun!
Are these the kinds of things that you would want to see more? If so, drop a comment below and I will do my best to walk you through it!

Top 10 Pressure Cooker Recipes
On Monday, I shared my take on pressure cooker mac-n-cheese. Many people have asked me to give them more recipes they can use in their pressure cooker!
I have linked my tried and true recipes below with some commentary. I believe in using what you have in your pantry and making it work for your family. For example, I rarely have heavy whipping cream sitting in my fridge. This is why I used milk in my mac-in-cheese instead! Do your research and see what you can substitute!
Did you know you could freeze cream cheese? Yep, I buy it in bulk from Aldi when it is on super sale and throw the bricks into the freezer in their packaging! Frozen cream cheese is not the best to spread on a bagel, but it is great in dips and sauces! Crack chicken on sliders is a staple in our household. We actually just had it last night!
This is a tailgating classic that we can munch on throughout our busy Saturdays. I love making this dip in the crock pot, but sometimes I forget to start it first thing. You can munch on this with celery or low-carb tortilla chips or your favorite potato chip!
I made this a couple of weekends ago when the stomach bug hit our household. It was SO easy to prepare and amazing to have on your tummy. I put in chopped carrots, trying to sneak those veggies in, and bowtie pasta! This is what I had in my pantry, so it is what made our meal! I froze the leftovers and can not wait to break into them again!
I adore this website for everything and this is the first recipe I ever made! Are you a meal prepper or just like to bulk cook? Well this is the recipes to try! You can season it however you'd like and pop them into your pot! They are frozen to done in under 30 minutes!
I grew up on spaghetti with meat sauce. When I met my husband, I learned that he was not a ground beef fan at all. Over the years, I have been trying to get more red sauce into our meals and make myself believe that I am having spaghetti again! Top this with your favorite cheese and it is amazing!
Sweet Potatoes
If you have been following me for a while, you know that I make my own baby food. How I haven't turned my kid orange, I will never know. She is absolutely obsessed with sweet potatoes. She will eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I would let her. Anyways, I have used many methods with the instant pot and all had great results! I placed them on the trivet that holds them above the water; which is great if you aren't cooking many pounds at once. I have cooked them by wrapping them in foil, which I did not notice a difference in the cooking times. Last trick I have tried is using a little silicone trivet that sits deeper and can cook almost 3 pounds at once. I stabbed them, put them in for 45 minutes and they were falling out of their skins. It was glorious. Snag the silicone trivet here.
This is the recipe that caught all the attention on my Insta-stories this past few days. I had whipped up a batch of this wonderful goldy gooey goodness to fill my family's bellies. I did not have heavy whipping cream, so I put in milk. I also didn't have elbow macaroni, so I used rotini. It is the same amazing result! One of my family's twists on macaroni is to mix in buffalo chicken, which is thrown in the crock pot earlier in the day.
I have been able to snag huge packs of wings at Aldi for less than $4 and stretch them for two lunches. They are an absolute fave around my house. My husband won a multi-pack of Buffalo Wild Wings sauce this past Christmas and we have been experimenting. Pro tip: don't skip the broiling portion. That is how you get all the crispy goodness!
My husband is obsessed with sesame chicken and has high standards of it. I have been perfecting this recipe for on the stove and crock pot, but the instant pot is the best! I have skipped the sesame seeds *gasp* and he still loved it. Also, I omitted the green onions because we just don't keep those in the fridge.
I hope you enjoyed all of these meals and ideas. What are your go-to pressure cooker recipes?

If I could not fail....
Yesterday, I asked what would you do if you could not fail. Answers came pouring in that just warmed my heart and lit a fire in my life again. People are most afraid of failure and what others will think of them if they are not successful.
Honestly, failure is a relative term. To some, money is a hurdle for their dreams. Others believe that they would be deemed a failure if they are not able to retire at a certain age. To me, failure is if I am not enjoying what I am doing. My motto has always been "work to live, not live to work". I love my career and my kids, but I know that I am replaceable.
I dream of a life in which I am able to enjoy my life with my family and have financial freedom. My husband and I work hard to give our child and fur baby the life they deserve, so why not we live our dream as well. We want to make sure that we are experiencing life to the fullest extent.
Blessed is something that I do not use lightly to describe a situation. However, when I am able to make a product for someone and their eyes just light up with satisfaction and joy, I feel so blessed. God has put this person in my life to allow me to bless them in such a way.
Here are some great motivational images that I have saved over on my Pinterest board.

Now you are asking: what would you do if you couldn't fail. Well, that is simple. I would share my life and experiences with the internet and be able to live off that income and retire early from teaching. I love my children, but I want to share my passion with others that need it too. Whether it be dyslexia instruction, baby food recipes, or the best way to clean your dishwasher. I am here for you.
Remember that failure is what you define it as, so why not rip it out of your dictionary?

Why Blog?
This is a more personal post than I have been sharing on my page. I wanted to share the reason of why I chose to blog and share my life in an online format.
If you do not know much about me, here are 10 facts:
If you do not know much about me, here are 10 facts:
- I am married to the love of my life and college sweetheart for almost three years
- We have the cutest, sassiest, little girl who will be one in March
- I am a teacher for 3rd-5th graders with various special needs
- I am finishing my Master's degree in Multisensory Education this May
- We choose to cook from scratch often and meal plan every week
- My family is my top priority
- I started making resources for teachers in 2016 and have been slowly creating more throughout the years
- I am constantly scrolling and researching more efficient ways to run our lives, which I want to share with other people
- We have an eight-year-old Golden Retriever, named Sadie
- Our lives are humorous, chaotic, and blessed, which is what I want to share daily
I know these facts are random, which pretty much sums up our lives. Hadley, our little one, has stopped me multiple times as I try to write this. She loves to see Mom's computer and the pretty pictures, aka clipart I am browsing. Sadie has tried to jump up on the couch with me to avoid Hadley pulling her fur. Oh, and my Instant Pot has beeped twice for me to release the steam.
My goal here is to inspire one mom or teacher or wife or man to celebrate the special things in life. All Kinds of Special is simply what is says, we are full of special things that are not like anyone else we know. I used to use this phrase to describe my job, which included many different "special" needs. I then began to use it to describe my life, which is when I began my teacher Instagram. I absolutely adore connecting with people and sharing how I can be more efficient and make more of the special times.
I hope that you can find one thing you are able to take away from my page. If not, just grab a cup of coffee (or Diet Coke) and hang out til the next day. I promise to bring you along with me through each season of my life, if you will have me.
Answer me this in the comments: what is one thing that you would do if you could not fail?
Keep an eye out for tomorrow's post to see my answer.

Sight Word Work in Resource
Hey y'all,
Doesn't everyone in the elementary word love sight word work? Well, I sure do. I struggled with covering all of the words and having the students practice them independently. Well, I set out to figure out how to structure five levels of Dolch sight words plus independence plus simple plus no prep.
Can you see that I set high expectations? Well after a year of teaching, I found the secret formula and have been using it ever since! I dedicated one worksheet to one word, added in multisensory units, and made sure I could just print them!
I am doing a live this afternoon to show off my organization of sight word worksheets. If you are just all giddy about these, you can download them NOW through my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Print them off and TA DA!
Here is a time-lapse video of how these worksheets work:
I am so thrilled to be bringing some peace to your classroom and sight word work! Please let me know if you have ANY questions or want me to create something for you!
Stay special y'all,
Kaylee Ann
